Software that works for you
I’m Matthew Zagone, founder of Anetos — with 17+ years building the custom software, e-commerce, and integrations that businesses run on.
I’ve loved technology for as long as I can remember. I wrote my first program at ten years old, and the thrill of making a computer do something useful has never worn off. That early spark grew into a lifelong craft — and eventually into Anetos.
For more than 17 years, I’ve been building the software that businesses depend on — from customer-facing e-commerce to the line-of-business systems and integrations that keep a company running behind the scenes.
That work has spanned a wide range of industries. I’ve built e-commerce and line-of-business software for a highly regulated manufacturing industry, including machine-learning models to forecast inventory. I handled business intelligence and migration work in telecom at IBM, following a telecom acquisition. Along the way I’ve written accounting software for oil and gas, built credit card processing and AI-powered marketing platforms, and launched an e-commerce marketplace for the heavy equipment industry. A common thread runs through all of it: connecting disjointed systems so a business’s tools finally work together.
Along the way, my work has grown beyond writing code. I’ve led engineering teams and consulted with business leaders on technology strategy — helping them decide not just how to build, but what to build, and why. The best software starts with the right decisions, and I bring both the technical depth and the business perspective to make them.
I started Anetos, LLC to bring that experience to small and growing businesses. Too often, software gets in a company’s way instead of helping it. My goal is the opposite — to streamline your processes, automate the repetitive work, and put you at the cutting edge of technology, so you can spend more time serving your customers and less time fighting your tools.
I work as a hands-on partner, not a faceless vendor. I’m based in Bowling Green, Kentucky — about an hour north of Nashville — and work with clients both locally and remotely, staying close to the details and honest about the trade-offs from first conversation to launch and beyond.
Industries I’ve worked in
Experience across very different businesses means I’ve seen what works — and what to avoid — in a lot of contexts.
How I work
The principles that shape every engagement.
Make software work for you
Technology should remove friction, not add it. The goal is always software that serves your business — not the other way around.
Automate the busywork
Repetitive, manual processes are time your team could spend serving customers. I look for what can be streamlined and automated.
Honesty
Straight answers about scope, cost, and risk. If something is a bad idea, I’ll say so — and suggest a better path.
Ownership
I treat your project like it’s my own: hands-on from first conversation to launch, accountable for outcomes, not just hours.
